Grooveline has been providing radio programs for a number of years. At the start of its existence the station was 100% dutch. Website, news and design were only Dutch. However, we saw that most listeners came from other countries, which gave rise to the idea of making Grooveline English. Unfortunately, the monthly costs had already risen sharply, making a migration to English not feasible.
Due mainly to the high costs of music rights, we had to take version 1.0 of Grooveline offline. Then the focus was on reducing spending but investing in development.
Grooveline got that opportunity with Radionomy. This platform, which stopped on January 1st/2020, provided the stream and music rights. This way we could invest in development.
On 4 May 2019 Grooveline started version 2.0 through Radionomy. That this step has been important was immediately apparent in the listening hours. They were positive & growing! Unfortunately Radionomy also appeared to have problems with music rights. In the first instance positive noises were heard, but at the end of 2019 the decision was finally made and it was announced that Radionomy would stop on January 1st/2020.
Due to the increasing number of listening hours per day, there was no discussion about taking the station offline. In a very short time a new provider has been found. “Hello! TorontoCast!!” These guys from Canada will officially be our new stream partner from December 2019. In addition to the switch to TorontoCast, a new website would also be developed.
Grooveline has full confidence in TorontoCast and in its own plans and ideas. The monthly bills can be paid and also continue to invest in development. We want to grow, create new programs and develop the website into an attractive online platform.
Sitting still is not an issue, version 3.0 has just been launched!
